Kellie and Tyler's Mid Century Modern Wedding at The Durham Hotel
When Kellie and Tyler booked me to shoot their wedding over a hear ago in Durham, NC, I had no idea what an impact their wedding would have on my life.
Their wedding day was a beautiful fall day in North Carolina, and it really couldn't have been more perfect. The staff at the Durham made everything run so smoothly, and since Kellie and Tyler elected to have a more intimate wedding, they were able to spend lots of time talking and being present with the most important people in their lives.
When I showed up at their wedding, my camera had broken the day before so I was scrambling to find a rental camera and get mine fixed. I had just undergone a HUGE life transition and was literally traveling with everything I owned in my car and had no where to live. I was trying to quickly re-brand my website and business name (because my name was changing), and was juggling a ton of pain on top of all of that.
They hosted their wedding at The Durham Hotel which allowed us to explore a bit of downtown Durham during their wedding. The hotel had just undergone a major renovation, and I was (and still am) WAY super inspired by the color palette and vibe the whole hotel had. I felt like a kid in a candy store feeling the energy of each of the well-decorated rooms. I knew I had to base my new branding (which is what you now see) off their color palette.
While in the Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill area, I was lucky enough to meet some pretty amazing people and have been growing roots for myself and my little business in Kellie and Tyler's part of the world and love it. Never would I have thought their Durham wedding would open so many beautiful doors for me, but I'm just so grateful and thankful that it did.
Kellie and Tyler, you guys are the best!
