Orchard Life with The Perry Family

I am going to write more about Daley and Weston and Maggie and Roo on my personal blog and how beautifully they entered my life (or I entered theirs) this past August.. but for the sake of this space I want to show you photographs that tell the story of how beautiful this family is. Daley and weston moved back to Daley’s hometown of Patterson, California from Memphis and have been living with her parents on their walnut orchard until they find their new home. They all welcomed me into their lives in one of my most vulnerable places this August, and I had the gift of living with them on the orchard. Maggie and I became friends (she’s a little spit-fire), and they gave me a seat at their table every night. There are so many things I hold dear about this family, and I really am so grateful my eyes worked well enough to take photographs of them while I was in Patterson. Daley and Weston’s relationship is beautiful and a glimpse of the kind of relationship I desire for my future. Oddly enough, they both know my cousin, sister and her husband well and I was able to hear stories of all of them I’d never heard. They taught me the power of family, the unconditional love of the “church”, and helped pull me out of survival. Like I said, lots to share about my time on the orchard, but until then I will leave you with these photographs that will help shape an image of that space in your mind. And while your at it, go listen to Weston’s music! https://open.spotify.com/artist/7uJ1jI8R1O9YiZXG71g5pH?si=NAxbdKeGS3OPbgP8esrdXQ
